Knitting Techniques
Very detailed with lots of photos in this pattern so easy to follow.
I had some difficulty in styling the hair however the designer was very encouraging and supportive and provided a video tutorial which made all the difference.
If you can knit and purl you could make this beautiful little doll.
Great fun to knit and my young granddaughter is thrilled with it.

Feb 16, 2024 The body is finished and stuffed and I think I will do the base of hair before I knit the arms—just for a change of pace!
Feb 17, 2024 I made the large braid following the instructions, and even with the fingering-weight yarn it is so thick and stiff that I don’t think I will get it to lie as it does in the designer’s photos. I will wait until I have the dress made so I can see how and where I’ll be able to tack the braid down without interfering with dressing the doll. I may just switch to a very simple braid with multiple lengths of yarn to get something more supple and pliable. I realized too late that I had a much softer yellow yarn I could have used for the hair--Rauma Baby Panda. Hindsight is 20/20!
Feb 18, 2024 I decided not to knit the arms flat. The stockinette fabric curls so much that it is very difficult to execute the mattress stitch. Instead, I am going to do a Turkish cast-on of 6 stitches, knit one row, increase 5 stitches in row 2, and continue to knit the 11-stitch arm in-the-round, stuffing as I go. Thinking about it, the entire doll could have been knit in the round without much difficulty. I may try that on the next one.
Feb 21, 2024 Knit the sleeves in the round, picking up an additional 2 stitches at the underarm. Also made them quite a bit longer. The 10 rows specified in the pattern yielded a short sleeve, and I wanted them to be long.
I unraveled the stiff braid, cut 12 strands of the yellow yarn and folded them in half, yielding 24. Separated these into 3 sections of 8 strands and braided them--not too tightly-- for a long, flexible braid that worked better.
